Kitchen coordinator

For 18 years, KomEet has been cooking a three-course meal every Monday at Ons Huis for people from Wageningen who need an affordable, enjoyable meal and a listening ear. KomEet is an initiative of four local churches, the Salvation Army, and Solidez. Currently, there are around 50 guests, but this number can reach up to 80. The three-course menu is known in advance, the recipes are available, the groceries are already purchased, and there is a semi-professional kitchen at Ons Huis for the preparation. The cooking teams (4-6 people) rotate weekly and come from churches, Christian student associations, and other involved organizations. A volunteer kitchen coordinator is in charge of the kitchen. He or she ensures that the dishes are ready to serve on time. The meal begins at 6:30 PM. The kitchen team starts at 4:30 PM and usually finishes clearing and cleaning around 8:30 PM. There are four kitchen coordinators, who work flexible hours and generally fulfill this role once every four weeks. A vacancy will open soon for one of these positions.
