Culture connector, status holder, min. A2 language level new group in 2022

Who are we?

Stimenz and Vluchtelingenwerk are looking for status holders/new Dutch citizens who want to fulfill the role of cultural connector in the city districts in Apeldoorn.

Is working with people your future? Are you someone who gets along well with different groups of people? Are you interested in status holders? And activities and possibilities nearby? Would you like to mean something to someone else and develop yourself further at the same time?

Then we are looking for you.

Activities

What are you going to do?

• You make contact with different people and provide information
• You connect status holders/new Dutch citizens and the neighborhood with each other
• You collect questions from status holders/new Dutch citizens
• You occasionally help with translation
• You show status holders / new Dutch people the way in the neighborhood
• You invite status holders / new Dutch citizens to participate in activities in Apeldoorn
• You provide information from your own culture to citizens and employees in the neighborhood
• You think along about how we can inform, guide and encourage beneficiaries/new Dutch citizens to participate in the neighbourhood.

We ask

You come from the target group status holders/migrants

• You can communicate well in the Dutch language. A2 language level, in addition you speak, for example, Arabic, Tigrinya or another language.
• You have knowledge of your own and the Dutch culture and can switch between them
• You are willing to develop
• You are available 6 to 8 hours a week for 1 year.
• You are willing to follow courses and training
• You are Able to connect
• You have an open attitude (curious, honest, reliable, transcending culture and religion)
• You are a resident of the municipality of Apeldoorn

We offer

• Support with your personal development, the possibilities to follow extra training courses, in addition to the monthly group training and weekly individual coaching by a permanent contact person
• Suitable volunteer place to gain (work) experience at a non-profit organization or activity
• Reimbursement per half day

Time use

You are available 6 to 8 hours a week for 1 year
