As a coordinator at the Vallei & Veluwe Animal Food Bank Foundation, you are a true jack-of-all-trades and a spider in the web!
You are the first point of contact for the location managers and volunteers of a number of distribution locations, and you support the senior coordinator.
We currently have five distribution locations, but we'll coordinate the number of locations you'll be responsible for together. You'll be coached by the senior coordinator. Together with the senior coordinator, the location managers, and volunteers, you'll ensure everything is organized at the distribution points to ensure the biweekly distribution runs smoothly. You'll be the link between the board, the location managers, and the volunteers at the locations.
What responsibilities do you have?
- You'll be responsible for your assigned locations (growing as you gain experience). You'll also serve as backup for the senior coordinator for the other locations.
- You are the first point of contact for the location managers and volunteers of the assigned locations;
- Keep track of (practical) questions from volunteers and ensure that they are answered;
- In consultation with the local team of volunteers, you support the locations in ensuring sufficient stock of distribution materials;
- You're a true jack-of-all-trades. Besides the aforementioned tasks, you'll also work with the senior coordinator to manage the central warehouse in Wageningen. You'll also assist with PR activities such as distributing flyers as needed. You'll collect large donations (either together or individually), and occasionally visit the Dierenlot Foundation.
- You perform various manual and supporting duties every week, together with the senior coordinator;
- You are the connecting link between the board and the volunteers;
- You monitor the agreed processes, procedures and decisions, and speak to people if these are not followed;
- Identifying new developments at the locations and taking action where necessary;
- Attend meetings such as general meetings, location management meetings and (internal) events as much as possible.
We are looking for:
- Someone who recognizes themselves in and acts according to our core values: Reliable, helpful and committed;
- Someone with courage, who is confident and, when necessary, dares to engage in discussions, both internally within our foundation and externally with our clients;
- Someone with a heart for pet welfare;
- Someone with flexible availability (everything in consultation);
- Someone for a longer period of time (at least 6 months);
- Someone with a lot of passion and hands-on commitment;
- Someone with the power to convey the foundation's mission and vision to volunteers and our clients;
- Someone with a great solution-oriented ability;
- Someone with a driver's license and their own transportation. However, our foundation's transportation can also be used upon request.

Dierenvoedselbank Vallei en Veluwe is a charitable organization that has been dedicated since 2016 to supporting people in that region who live below the poverty line together with their pet(s), and are therefore unable to fully feed and care for their pets. This is a group that often lives in social isolation and for whom the pet holds great emotional value.
We provide supplementary pet food and supplies so that owners can responsibly keep and care for their pets. Additionally, we assist our clients with advice, information, and education, and mediate where necessary.
With a helpful, reliable, and committed team of volunteers, we operate regionally from our distribution locations in Wageningen, Ede, Renkum, Rhenen, and Veenendaal. As a result, over 500 separations between owners and pets due to financial reasons have been prevented in recent years. Dierenvoedselbank Vallei en Veluwe is a non-profit organization, but holds ANBI status.
