WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
As a reading coach, you will listen to the voices of readers together with a professional coach. After you have been trained, you know what it takes to read an audiobook. You can select voices suitable for reading an audiobook. You will teach new young readers what you have learned and guide them in recording. How do you make an audiobook with two main characters? How do you read a drawing? Every new reader will receive general training that they will follow together with you and a coach. You can of course contribute ideas about the content of this course.
WHERE AND WHEN DO YOU GET STARTED?
You will be working on Saturday at our location in Rijswijk. We expect you to be present for at least half a day (in the morning from 10 am to 1.15 pm or in the afternoon from 1.15 pm to 4.45 pm) to accompany the readers.
WHAT DO WE ASK FOR?
• You are 17-30 years old.
• You are available for at least one half day (morning or afternoon) for 16 weeks.
• You enjoy teaching and guiding others.
• You can think creatively about how you could articulate images in books, for example.
• You have a good ear for a nice voice.
WHAT DO YOU GET IN RETURN?
• You learn how to make an audiobook.
• You will learn how to recognize good voices and what to pay attention to.
• You learn what a voice audition entails.
• You learn how to train and guide readers.
• You learn how to write an evaluation report.
• You learn to judge audio quality.
• You work with coaches, audio engineers and reading heroes.
• You will receive a recognized certificate on request if you work a minimum of 50 hours.
• You will receive a travel allowance if you do not have public transport.
• And of course the nice feeling that through your effort someone with a visual or other reading disability can simply enjoy a book.

Daarnaast maken we ook hele andere bijzondere dingen. Zoals de eerste Donald Duck voor blinde kinderen en voelbare plattegronden van de Noord/Zuidlijn in Amsterdam.
Je snapt, dat kunnen we niet alleen. Daarom zijn we op zoek naar jou: voorleeshelden met een jonge stem waar jongeren met een leesbeperking graag naar luisteren.
