Detailed description
Buitenplaats Doornburgh is looking for enthusiastic volunteers who want to come and help maintain all national monuments on our site.
Our country estate consists of a large park where various national monuments are located. There are, for example, the wrought-iron fence from 1725 on the Vecht side, a 19th-century ice cellar, the 18th-century main house and the monastery from 1966 in the style of the Bossche School.
All these different buildings and objects must of course be taken care of, so we are looking for volunteers who want to help us with this. As a handyman you are really working with your hands; painting walls and furniture, carpentry and repair, maintaining the shutters of the main house, up the roof, or even into the cellar. There is a lot to consider when maintaining national monuments.
If you don't have much experience with DIY, that's no problem. We have experienced people to guide everyone, and we find something for everyone that he or she is good at. The most important thing is that you are enthusiastic, then we will find something that you enjoy doing together.
There are already two volunteer teams that are involved in the maintenance of the garden and the park. For this vacancy we are looking for real handymen to expand the team.
We prefer to work with the DIY team on Wednesdays, so it is important that you are available on Wednesdays. What time and how long work is done can all be done in consultation with our manager.
There is a workshop on site with everything in-house, so it is not necessary to bring your own tools or the like. There is no compensation available for this vacancy.

Buitenplaats Doornburgh bestaat als sinds 1623 en ligt langs de kronkelende rivier de Vecht. Het is een plek waar kunst, wetenschap en natuur elkaar ontmoeten. Sinds 2018 organiseert en faciliteert Stichting Buitenplaats Doornburgh tentoonstellingen, lezingen, en residenties op het snijvlak van kunst en wetenschap. Wij zijn zo veelzijdig als de mensen die bij ons werken. Zo geven onze vrijwilligers rondleidingen over de historie en architectuur van de buitenplaats. Het onderhoud van het groen wordt verzorgd door een groep betrokken, vrijwillige tuinlieden. Ook zorgen zij voor de varkentjes die jaarlijks ons landgoed komen vervrolijken. Samen streven we naar een duurzame en circulaire toekomst.
