What will you do as chairman?

- You are the face of local authorities, the municipality of Deventer and national consultations and workshops

- Monitor the progress of the foundation's work and make any necessary adjustments.

- Chair the 2 monthly board meeting and consult some volunteers, who you prepare together with the secretary

- Coordinate incoming and outgoing correspondence with the secretary

- Monitor and implement the volunteer policy. Recruiting and training new volunteers.

- Monitoring and adjusting the day-to-day affairs in the workplace, together with the workplace coordinators

- Tapping into financial sources to ensure continuity

- Monitoring the agreements within the board and the workplace

- Dividing tasks for the board that are not assigned to a function within the foundation.

Who are we?

The Stichting Gered Gereedschap Deventer refurbishes old tools in a workshop near Deventer. These tools are sent to schools in Africa. We are a friendly, informal group. There is an active board of 5 people. Much responsibility is shared within the board and the volunteer group. Our volunteers perform various tasks in our workshop. Not all are technicians, but they are people who like to work by hand. We are an independent part of a national chain of workshops.

Furthermore, we are an unpaid foundation that has to generate income itself.

And who are you?

Are you happy with a volunteer group that works with their hands for the Third World? You have a feeling for technology or tools. Do you enjoy working in an informal atmosphere? And to support and guide a group of more than 20 enthusiastic volunteers.
