't Slath in Epe is a residential facility for people with a physical disability and/or non-congenital brain injury. Our residents need more company and to go out every now and then. We really need your help.
Would you like to mean something to someone else? At 't Slath this is possible with small things. We have residents who love a walk outside the door, who are shy for a chat or like to play a game.
As a volunteer with us, you roll up your sleeves. 't Slath is part of Siza and Siza is a care organization for people with disabilities. We are at the forefront when it comes to working with the client to live as unrestrictedly as possible with a disability. In addition, we invest a lot in innovation to be able to live even more independently in the future. At Siza, everyone is different and we celebrate that!
It is Thursday afternoon and today you will visit our residential location. What the afternoon will bring is always a surprise and that is what makes it so much fun. One thing is for sure; the residents and supervisors of the Slath are very happy to see you and that feels good.
It is a beautiful, fresh winter day and you feel like taking a walk. So when you arrive, you consult with the supervisors and it soon becomes clear that resident Marja would like to come with you. Fine, put on a coat and go outside! A small walk is more than enough for Marja.
When you return, you make a fresh pot of coffee and a few more residents join you in the living room. The residents clearly enjoy your presence and it is nice for the supervisors that they have their hands free for other tasks.
When you return home, you see that you have only been at the Slath for two hours, but for Marja and the other residents it means a lot. You can see that in everything.
Siza loves her volunteers! That is why we offer you a nice Christmas present, a party every now and then, a neat agreement and of course travel expenses. We have a contact person for volunteers (CPV) per home or activity centre, you can go there with questions. So well arranged.
