Will you help our creative club on Monday evening?

Knitting, greeting cards or making a dream catcher, something nice for Easter, other nice ideas .... A number of Sherpa clients like to tinker in their free time. In the Lopes Dias district center in Hilversum there is the possibility to do this on Monday evenings from September to June. We are looking for a volunteer who is busy with crafting and being creative and who likes to support these activities and the clients. The size of the group varies between 3 and 6 clients. The residents of the neighborhood center also like to join the club with a cup of coffee or tea. This creates a lively and cozy atmosphere. We therefore ask the volunteer to involve these local residents in the activities. We are looking for someone for the period from September to December, but a longer period would also be great. A Sherpa employee is also present every evening.

Working hours: Mondays from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm, from September to December and / or from January to June.

Special Conditions: Clients have a moderate to mild intellectual disability, sometimes accompanied by physical disabilities. The degree of communication is very variable. The creative activities must be fairly simple. Are you creative and easy to chat and can you easily explain something and keep a little overview?

Training method and guidance: Volunteers are indispensable. We realize that very well. That is why Sherpa wants to take good care of the volunteer. There will be an introduction where you can see if this volunteer vacancy suits you. If you decide to assist us with this, you work together with an enthusiastic team of supervisors.
