Neighborhood mediators can help residents to resolve the matter as neighbors if they have a quarrel or nuisance from each other.
Detailed description
Neighborhood mediation is for neighbors and neighbors who want to resolve a difference of opinion with each other under the guidance of voluntary neighborhood mediators. The neighborhood mediators are neutral, do not pass judgment and give both parties the space to express their dissatisfaction.
Neighborhood mediators have good social and communication skills, can listen to others without prejudice and remain impartial in a conflict.
They conduct separate intake interviews at the neighbors' homes.
They then conduct the joint mediation meeting at a neutral location.
Mediators are prepared to work in the evenings, to participate in the basic neighborhood mediation training and the annual in-depth training. Confidentiality of submitted matters is required.
