Summary

Join our volunteer cohort and play an important role in empowering survivors of human trafficking.

Detailed description

We are recruiting eight (8) dedicated individuals to join our first ATIP volunteer cohort of the year! Volunteers must be able to commit to weekday morning sessions (10:00 AM – 12:00 PM) for a minimum of four months. You will be conducting and facilitating activity sessions to support the healing of the survivors of human trafficking residing in government protection shelters.

Application deadline: 1 Feb 2026 (Sun)

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and conduct therapeutic activity sessions aligned with the monthly themes
  • Assist in sessions and workshops conducted by the Therapeutic Care Facilitator, guest speakers and other stakeholders.
  • Support the planning and implementation of special events (e.g. International Women’s Day, Hari Raya celebrations)
  • Create and maintain a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment during all sessions

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years old and above.
  • Creative and independent, with the ability to develop their own session ideas and execute them with minimal supervision.
  • Be team players who communicate effectively, collaborate well with other volunteers, utilise their own strengths, recognise the strengths of others, and maintain a respectful attitude at all times.
  • Be flexible and adaptable, as the shelters are managed by the government and not SUKA Society; therefore, changes in schedules or requirements may occur.
  • Demonstrate good time management skills, including punctuality and ensuring that all sessions are conducted on time.
  • Able to adhere strictly to regulations at the government protection shelters, such as dress codes and restrictions on electronic devices.
  • Preferably bilingual in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
  • Able to arrange their own transportation to and from the shelters.
  • Able to commit once a week for a minimum of four months.
