Summary

Do you have an emergency plan ready so that you know what to do in the event of a prolonged power outage or a burst water pipe? One in five Dutch people is more at risk in such an emergency than others because they are not well prepared.

Detailed description

Under the name 'Well Prepared for Emergencies', the Red Cross has developed a number of activities to prepare people in emergencies to help themselves and others. We are looking especially for these activities
volunteers Well Prepared in North and East Gelderland
in the working area of Apeldoorn and environs, the Veluwe and the Achterhoek.

Who are we?

In an emergency, everyone can use the help of another. The Red Cross helps you and the other person to prepare so that you know what to do and prevent problems. This is how we ensure our safety with and for each other. What do you do in case of an emergency?

Activities

· You carry out well-prepared activities in consultation with a board member or coordinator, whether or not in collaboration with other organizations.

· These activities can be, for example: performing safety checks in homes of vulnerable people, supervising a first aid quest for children, setting up a contact circle.

· If you have didactic skills, a first aid diploma or a safety background, there is the possibility to become a workshop supervisor.

· You identify opportunities for other activities.

· You work within a department together with other volunteers.

We ask

· You are firmly in your shoes

· You can work well together

You can deal well with vulnerable people, from young to older

· You are a strong communicator

· You want to spend an average of 2-4 hours per week for the Red Cross.

We offer

The Red Cross offers a fun and educational working environment with various training courses and themed meetings. You can gain knowledge and experience as a volunteer. You can do something for the vulnerable fellow man. Your travel and expenses are reimbursed and you are insured during your volunteer work.
