Do you enjoy giving guest lessons in primary education, do you have some time available during the week and would you like to contribute to a social organization? Then we're looking for you!
There is room in our team for guest lecturers who provide educational activities together with other volunteers. The activities developed by the Red Cross for primary schools cover topics such as earthquakes, floods, extreme heat and first aid.
The education team is engaged in giving guest lessons and activities with the aim of increasing respect, self-reliance and willingness to help among as many children and young people as possible.
What are you going to do?
You will teach one or more of the following types of lessons: “Savage World” (about natural disasters), “Help! First aid skills for you” and our newest activity: “the Plaster Race”. Look for an impression of our guest lessons on our website: teaching material for primary education
· You provide at least 8 guest lessons per year in your region.
· You give lessons at primary schools, together with a fellow volunteer. Incidentally you can (if you wish) also be used for special activities of sports associations, scouting, children's holiday weeks and at events.
Who are you?
· You enjoy standing in front of a group, teaching experience is an advantage.
· You have an affinity with the target group (students aged 8-12).
· You are regularly available during school hours.
· You are digitally skilled; Online teaching materials are used in the lessons.
· You subscribe to the seven principles of the Red Cross.
What can you expect from us?
To familiarize yourself with the teaching material and our ideas, you first follow a few online modules and one or more training courses at a location in the region. In addition to the lesson content, there is also attention for first aid and didactics. There are also periodic regional meetings with the other volunteers from the team.
