Summary
For our Enschede museums De Museumfabriek and Rijksmuseum Twenthe we are looking for all-round volunteers within our hospitality team.Detailed description
Do you have a natural talent for hospitality? No matter how the day goes, and who comes in through our door, do you always make our guests feel welcome? Do you get energy from a dynamic workplace, where your activities vary from day to day - but always have one thing in common: provide our guests with a fantastic museum experience? Do you want to contribute to the existence of our museums? Then read on and respond immediately ...
For our Enschede museums De Museumfabriek and Rijksmuseum Twenthe we are looking for all-round volunteers within our hospitality team. Together with your fellow volunteers you form a basic occupancy during the week, and preferably also on weekends and evenings in all areas where we receive our guests.
What are you going to do?
As we described above; you are going to use your all-round. In principle, your base is the reception desk - but you can work at the catering departments, the gift shop, the cash register and in the Makerspace.
Your exact activities will therefore vary per day! But what you are going to do anyway;
- Front office: desk activities, receiving and informing guests. Would the guest want to know more about a specific painting or about the mammoth skeleton? You walk along and show the guest the way.
- Gift shop: Does the guest want a lasting memory of the museum visit? You are familiar with the current range of shops and operate the cash register;
- Catering: light, ad hoc, catering activities such as preparing hot and cold drinks and small food items, the checkout activities, keeping the space representative;
- Makerspace: In the museum factory, children can create their own art and inventions. You facilitate this by explaining and providing families with craft materials. In addition, you may be asked to support the supervision of children's parties.
What do we ask for?
We are looking for volunteers who put the guest experience first; you enjoy giving our visitors, aged 4 - 100 years, a great day. For this it is important that you have a good command of the Dutch language in word and writing, and you also have basic knowledge of the English language. To be able to work at our Museums, you must submit a VOG, we will apply for this for you.
in addition
- Do you like to work in a team, but can you also work independently;
- It can sometimes be 'running and standing still', and you can deal with that well;
- Are you punctual and digitally skilled, you can, with some help if necessary, make systems 'your own';
- Do you have a good feeling for working with people, our target group is broad and you have the talent to approach everyone in the right way.
What do we offer you?
• An inspiring work environment;
• A work schedule in which you indicate when you are available (at least 1 half-day per week);
• A fun and international team with an informal but professional atmosphere;
• Room for personal development and training
• The Museum card;
• As soon as the weather is possible: cozy (physical) staff meetings!
