Museum with a nice collection of mechanical musical instruments and historical collection is looking for result-oriented, communicatively strong motivator and inspiration.
Vacancy Director of the Kijk en Luistermuseum
The Kijk en Luistermuseum in Bennekom was founded in 1970 and is based on a
collection of mechanical musical instruments (earpiece) and a collection of Historical
objects (viewing area).
The museum is fully run by about 60 volunteers. A paid employee is hired through Werkkracht Ede for supporting tasks.
The position of director is also performed by a volunteer.
The museum receives approximately 10 to 12,000 visitors annually.
As a legal entity, KLM is a foundation led by a foundation board that meets approximately 5 times a year and furthermore as often as necessary.
The director attends the board meetings as an advisor.
Operational tasks:
• The director directly manages 4 staff members, who in turn assist the director with advice and executive tasks, each within his own work / duties package. (Music curator; Historical collection curator; PR and recruitment officer and Head of Technical and Restoration).
• The director develops policy in the short and long term and coordinates the implementation of this policy in consultation with the staff.
• The director is accountable to the board.
• The director takes part in various consultations within the Municipality of Ede, regional museums and in Bennekom, as well as internal employee meetings.
• The director is expected to be present regularly, on average 10 to 15 hours per week, part of which can be completed from home.
Job requirements:
• Is a figurehead of the museum and an active representative of the museum in all relevant networks.
• Has administrative experience.
• Is result-oriented and communicative.
• Is an inspiration and motivator for the staff and knows how to bring out the best in the employees.
• Has a positive attitude.
• Can agree with the core values of the museum; hospitality, entrepreneurship and integrity.
• Some knowledge of and affinity with museum activities is a plus.

The Kijk en Luistermuseum houses a textile shop from the 19th century, a school class, and an agricultural section with agricultural implements (viewing section). In addition, a large collection of mechanical musical instruments (listening part).
