Flexpool KadoLokaal

KadoLokaal is a gift shop in the center of Wageningen. It is a collaboration between the organization Match and Work and the practical education department of Pantarijn. The shop is committed to contributing to an inclusive society: a society that offers opportunities to every person. KadoLokaal is therefore happy to partner with other initiatives, such as the Maatjesproject.

At KadoLokaal, you will find original and handmade gifts. Each with its own story, made by students and clients, but also by small local entrepreneurs and artists. In addition, KadoLokaal is the place to go in the city center for various regional products and beautiful plants.

There is no education or daytime activities on weekends and during holiday periods. It is precisely on those days that many customers come into the store, so we need you to keep the store open!

Do you believe in local, responsible products, and do you love gifts and people? We would love to get in touch with you if you have any questions or would like to join us. We work with a number of regular volunteers who are scheduled quarterly. In addition, we are looking for many new volunteers for the flex pool: enthusiastic participants who sign up at short notice for the gaps in the schedule.

Your tasks:

• Together with a colleague, you keep the shop running for half a day. You open the shop, start up the cash register, and check if the plants need water. You process payments and wrap gifts. You answer customer questions and hope to get them excited about the shop by telling the story of KadoLokaal.

• Sometimes you work with a student from Pantarijn or a candidate from Match and Work.

• If you like, there are plenty of other tasks to do in the background. Think of washing the aprons, keeping the store tidy and clean, but also creating the schedule, and contributing ideas regarding communication and social media. We take initiators and those who like to contribute ideas seriously.

What do we ask?

• You have a customer-friendly attitude.

• Preferably, you can indicate at least a week in advance whether you are able to work

• After an induction period, you can work independently.

• You have a sufficient command of Dutch to speak to customers.

• Voluntary but not without obligation: you ensure that we can count on you

What do we offer?

• We do it together! You will be part of a group of passionate and committed volunteers.

• You will be trained and familiarized with the ins and outs of the store.

• You work at a time that suits you. You sign up for the store roster at least one week in advance. Typically, two people schedule you for each shift, so you are not alone.

• We offer all our volunteers a volunteer contract.
