The Support for Loss and Mourning project supports people who come into contact with loss and feel alone in this.
Everyone comes into contact with loss in his life. Death of a family member or other loved one, but also another drastic loss such as having to give up living independently, loss of a job, divorce, serious illness. There are many types of loss and every loss has a grieving process associated with it. All kinds of feelings can play a role in this. Everyone handles their loss in their own way.

As a volunteer ...
You support the participant 1-2 hours a week at his/her home in processing the loss. The volunteer mainly listens and invites the client to find solutions themselves.
Are you one of our new volunteers?
- Preference is given to volunteers with personal experience in the field of loss and grief.
- A self-critical attitude is expected of the volunteer.
- He/she is open to coaching during the regularly scheduled meetings and will contact the coordinator if necessary.
- The volunteer keeps an eye on the objective of support in the event of loss and mourning, and knows how to keep a distance despite compassion.
- The volunteer knows his limits and identifies underlying problems in a timely manner and any necessary support from professional care providers.
What do you get in return?
- A training (incl. certificate);
- Guidance from a coordinator, someone you can always fall back on;
- Return meetings to share experiences and gain new ideas;
- Travel and expense allowance (no parking allowance).
