We are getting more and more questions about volunteers that we can deploy in home situations with people with dementia. As a Reminder you ensure that family and loved ones can go their own way because you take over the care for a while.
Who are we?
De Kap is a foundation for informal care. We offer help and support in the home situation. This concerns care and support for which insufficient or no appeal can be made to formal care or the social network. De Kap facilitates and supports and is based on people's own strength.

Activities
What you do as a Reminder is very different.
You will be matched to someone with dementia and you will visit this person about 1 half-day a week or every 14 days.
At these times you or just visit and drink a cup of coffee together, at home or elsewhere. Have a nice chat or a walk, or do you run an errand together. You actually provide a nice moment for the person with dementia and a bit of relaxation for the family or partner.

We are looking for men and women who have an affinity with dementia and who derive satisfaction from volunteering, people with patience, who are good listeners and who are flexible. Someone who is available for part of a day once a week or 14 days.
