Who are we?
De Kap is a foundation for informal care.
For more than 50 years we have been deploying volunteers with our vulnerable fellow human beings where, due to circumstances, no professional help can be used.
Volunteering at the Kap is for everyone. There are no age limits and even with little time you can mean something to someone else. You can learn a lot from volunteering, you make new contacts and it offers you the opportunity to gain experience. Of course, the nature of the work has to suit you and you need training to perform care tasks. This is by

Activities
The volunteer does not exist. There are different profiles for various volunteer activities. Our activities range from:

- a visit to a lonely elderly person to a job in a garden or an errand
- putting up a coat rack to watch over someone who is about to die.
- cycling with someone who does not dare to do this alone to keeping someone with dementia company so that their carer can do something for himself.
- from bringing magazines (4 times a year) to guiding walking groups.
Together with you, we will discuss your strengths and wishes, and then we will see where you want to use them.
