For the De Herberg drop-in center, we are looking for staff who contribute to a homely atmosphere and a well-run meal (you don't have to cook).
Every Thursday—and once a month on Sunday—anyone who wishes can join us for a meal between 5:00 and 6:00 PM at the De Herberg drop-in center. This drop-in center is run by the De Herberg Apeldoorn Foundation, which supports people who are at odds with society.
As a meal team member, your shift starts at 4:15 PM and, along with your two colleagues, you'll ensure the tables are set by 4:45 PM and guests are warmly welcomed. The chef will have prepared a two- or three-course meal, which you'll help serve. Between courses, you'll clear the table and prepare the next course. As a meal team member, you'll also eat with others and contribute to the conversation during the meal, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
The drop-in center's visitors are very diverse. What they all have in common is that they come to meet (each other) and enjoy the company. Most also share the same belief that life isn't always easy and they face challenges in various areas of their lives. We believe it's important that everyone is welcome and valued as a person. In terms of availability, we require a minimum commitment of once a month. Ideally, you should be available every other week. You will always work with two other staff members. Together, you will ensure that the meal was enjoyable and went smoothly for everyone. You will also ensure that the food is taken care of afterward.

Working at De Herberg is incredibly rewarding. You'll work with wonderful people (both colleagues and visitors) and provide healthy and enjoyable meals for those who don't usually get them. De Herberg provides guidance and onboarding, a well-equipped living room/kitchen, and coordination with other staff members. You'll join a team of driven individuals where you'll also experience a friendly and engaging atmosphere.
