Detailed description
General
Stichting De Herberg Apeldoorn is a foundation that is particularly committed to people who are homeless in the municipality of Apeldoorn. The foundation, formerly known as Citypastoraat, has existed since 1978.
Everyone is welcome in De Herberg. We want to give our visitors the feeling that they are welcome, that they are heard and that they can be themselves. A large part of the visitors are homeless.
We organize walk-in afternoons almost daily and once a week our visitors can have a hot meal. In addition, people can talk to our experts during our consultation hours every week and we offer a postal address to people who do not have their own home.
A postal address is provided in collaboration with the Municipality of Apeldoorn to people who cannot register elsewhere for various reasons. Because a postal address is temporary, we offer support and referral from the Herberg in thinking about solutions for the situation that has arisen.
The postal address holders are expected to come by weekly to collect mail. This offers a nice moment to have a chat about how things are going. With the current staffing, this unfortunately does not always happen. For this reason, we are looking for a volunteer who wants to shape this low-threshold contact during the distribution of mail.

As an employee you offer a postal address:
- interest in the lives of the postal address holders
- a listening ear, people can tell you their story
- integrity and care in handling people's stories and mail
- good cooperation between you and the small team that is involved
You work at least once a month on Thursday afternoon, from 13:15 to 17:00. It is possible to start later.
What do we offer?
We offer you the experience of meeting other people, in which both the other and yourself are held in high regard. You will join a small team of expert and driven people. You will receive a tailor-made induction program, training and a scheduled periodic consultation with your colleagues.

At De Herberg we not only offer a listening ear, but also meals and participation in various events
activities. We also facilitate a letter address and consultation hours where personal attention is central. We strive to respond to the needs of our visitors with our activities, in order to contribute to a better quality of life for our visitors.
