Estate Maintenance

hedgerows and lanes that connect the forest massif of the Crown Domain and the Gelders Landschap with more open agricultural areas.

The estate is partly open to walkers.

Due to the many different activities on the estate, we are looking for a nice group of motivated volunteers for various tasks; sometimes seasonal; sometimes throughout the year to help maintain the estate with its beautiful flora and fauna and pass it on to the next generation.

What do we offer volunteers:

You work in a team with multiple volunteers. Collaboration is in a pleasant, open and respectful atmosphere, where everyone experiences maximum pleasure in the activity.

Every year we organize a cozy get-together with our entire team with snacks and drinks in the summer as well as around the Christmas period.

We are incredibly happy with the efforts of these people who, like us, have a big heart for the Estate and Outdoor Life.

We are looking for:

Vegetable & plant garden volunteers:

We are looking for reinforcements for both light gardening work and heavy gardening work. Maintenance of vegetable, plant and berry gardens, orchards and yards.

Forest maintenance:

Maintaining nature, landscape and cultural history is one of the functions of the forest on the Estate. Therefore, space must be made for healthy, young trees by thinning but also by new planting. This benefits the variation of the forest.

Before starting the work, the forest was carefully inventoried for nests, anthills and trees with nesting cavities.

Maintenance of unique historical collection:

Performing specific activities aimed at preserving museum objects. People with an interest in the history of carriage collections and associated ^18th , ^19th and early ^20th century props such as clothing, hats and others.

An affinity with historical values is desirable.

Care of horses and stables

Volunteers who want to help with all-round stable work.

The tasks that come with the job are: feeding the horses, mucking out the stable/paddock, getting the horses in and out of the horse walker. Keeping the grounds clean.

Possibly go along with authentic harness riding and possibly learn grooming.

Technical Maintenance

Maintenance of agricultural machinery, buildings and fences.

Including: Wrenching, carpentry and welding
