We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic secretary who is passionate about Amnesty's work and finds inspiration in working for the working group. The secretary has a supporting role in the board.
Our working group consists of approximately 20 enthusiastic people who are committed to Amnesty and human rights in general in various ways.
We meet approximately eight times a year to evaluate and initiate actions.
What are you going to do
- The secretary, together with the chairman, draws up the agenda for these meetings and takes minutes of the meetings.
- In addition, the secretary consults with the chairman and treasurer regarding the planning of activities.
- The secretary maintains the membership list and the calendar of activities and manages the information material. In addition, taking care of the correspondence and contributing to the communication is part of the function.
Time investment
The estimated time investment is 1.5 to 2 hours per week and largely self-determined. It is much quieter in the summer period.
Amnesty Apeldoorn is affiliated with the Mondial Foundation and the chairman and secretary are delegates on behalf of our working group to the Mondial meetings that take place approximately four times a year.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has an affinity with the work of Amnesty International, is a member or wants to become a member
- Finds loyalty and teamwork important
- Finds satisfaction in performing secretarial tasks
- Would like to stay informed about what is happening within the organization
This is what you can expect from us
- The working group offers you support, a warm atmosphere and time to familiarise yourself with the work.
- Amnesty International Netherlands, of which we are a part as a working group, organizes workshops and study days, locally, regionally and nationally, where you can obtain information and receive further training.
- The expenses you incur will of course be reimbursed
