Join the IMIG, in partnership with Intellectual Football Club & Academy SXM, to promote healthy living through youth soccer.
he Internal Medicine Interest Group is partnering with Intellectual Football Club & Academy SXM (IFCA), a community organization in Sint Maarten dedicated to youth development, athletics, teamwork, and positive mentorship through sports programming. This interactive event will combine health education and physical activity to encourage healthy lifestyles among youth ages 10–14.
At the start of soccer practice, AUC student volunteers will provide a brief and engaging health talk focused on topics such as hydration, nutrition, exercise, sleep, injury prevention, and healthy habits for young athletes. Following the discussion, volunteers will join coaches and participants on the field to help guide children through soccer drills, activities, and teamwork exercises.
This event provides an exciting opportunity for medical students to connect with youth in an active community setting while practicing communication, mentorship, and health promotion skills. It is especially valuable for students interested in internal medicine, pediatrics, sports medicine, adolescent medicine, family medicine, or community health.
