About The Children's Radio Foundation

The Children's Radio Foundation is is an International Non Government Organisation (INGO) that trains children & young people in Radio Journalism skills across Africa. Our 1,500 Trained Youth Reporters research, present & broadcast their own radio programmes, which are aired to their local community on a weekly basis. We have 72 project sites across 5 countries in Africa broadcasting on key issues that affect them such as HIV/Aids, homelessness, climate change, discrimination, gender inequality, relationships, alcoholism & more, to 7.5 million listeners each week. We have recently response to the Ebola issue with our Young Reporters producing relevant & comprehensive educational programmes on dealing with the aftermath of Ebola hit areas in community radio stations across Liberia.

Our role in the UK is to provide Fundraising, Strategic Development, Promote Partnerships & Advocacy of our projects using our unique capacity building model to development. We are a very small team currently with only one paid full-time member of staff and seek to find an Accountancy/Book-Keeping support with knowledge & experience of working in the charitable sector.
