Detailed description
The Heerlen Book Support Foundation was founded in June 2007. Since then, the foundation has been running a successful second-hand bookshop. People donate their books to our foundation and therefore not only contribute to charity, but also get books a second life. The offer is very varied.
A group of volunteers sorts the books received and divides them into various sections; the manager of a section determines the value of the book, praises it and places it in his or her cabinet. Another group takes care of sales and serves the cash register.
A number of our volunteers have retired and a number have a longer distance from the labor market for various reasons, but with us they find a great place and experience their work as meaningful. Contact with visitors and customers is very lively.
