Detailed description
In Leiden, we are looking for a chef for our restaurants in the houses of Buurt Op Eigen Wieken and Vogelvlucht who wants to help in the kitchen and can step in if necessary to devise a menu, do the shopping and implement it. Can you go to Vogelvlucht on Tuesday or Op Eigen Wieken on Thursday? Then register.
What are you going to do?
The trick is to put together a delicious, healthy and affordable three-course menu. You prepare the meal in a team of volunteers in the kitchen. You do shopping and divide the kitchen work within the team. You will be supported and coached in your work by the catering managers of Resto VanHarte.
What are you bringing?
Of course, a passion for cooking should not be missing! We prefer some knowledge of the chef's profession, but that knowledge can also be learned by fellow volunteers or under the guidance of the coordinators.
Collaboration is a great asset at VanHarte. You are social and friendly and a real team player

A Resto is a cozy neighborhood restaurant where everyone can join. It is the place where loneliness is exchanged for a listening ear. And all while enjoying a tasty and healthy meal. Together with our volunteers, we welcome guests at 50 locations. These are places in large and medium-sized cities where we all want to combat loneliness. Because half of the Dutch feel lonely. And we can do something about that.
The driving forces behind Resto VanHarte is a professional team of Resto Managers, Catering Managers and volunteers. They are supported by a small team at the central office in Amsterdam. Thanks to their efforts and the contributions of donors, the government and companies, Resto VanHarte organizes approximately 100,000 meetings every year! And where we can, we also organize other activities to combat loneliness.
