Who are we?
We are the Hout en Groen day care group and we have a beautiful spot on the grounds of 's Heeren Loo.
From 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, participants from 21 to 65 years old all have a mild intellectual disability. Some receive intensive guidance and some have non-congenital brain damage. They function at the emotional level of a toddler. It is a group that likes to chat and it is never boring! We work in our own vegetable garden and do a lot of carpentry. A large number of participants also like football and sports. They think machines such as chainsaws and brushcutters are cool!
Together with us as supervisors, we always try to make it a beautiful day.

What do we ask?
We would really appreciate it if a volunteer came every week on Mondays from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM or until 2:00 PM.
A volunteer who can offer just a little more personal attention to our participants. Someone who likes to work outdoors, someone with humor, someone who has an affinity with our target group and perhaps has experience with carpentry, the vegetable garden or odd jobs. Of course you will be trained and you will look together at what is possible that day. For example, going out with an electric cart and a client to do a job, digging the ground together, walking or just having a good conversation with a participant. Sturdy shoes and work trousers are recommended. Our volunteers have been working there for years and are truly part of our team!
