The city of Hoorn increasingly wants to present itself as a hospitable city . A city where it is pleasant to stay, which gives a good feeling and confirms why you are there. With the aim that people stay longer and also like to come back again . To achieve this, it is important that visitors and residents feel welcome and safe when visiting the city center.
That is why the municipality of Hoorn has started deploying hostesses and hosts. Every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. a team of volunteers walks through the city center and the port area. Visibly present through its own clothing line, on which the text host / hostess is clearly stated. Our hostesses and hosts are also visibly present during the Wednesday markets in August.
What do our hostesses and hosts do?
They are proactively present in the city center and the port area to welcome visitors to the city and to answer practical questions. Such as toilet facilities, bicycle sheds, parking facilities, etc. But also, for example, to point the way to shops, restaurants, museums, the harbor and places of interest.

Proud residents of the city of Hoorn, who like to volunteer for a hospitable city. People who know what to do in the city and can easily refer visitors. They are representative, friendly and have a natural tendency to chat.
