Become a Counselor for Humanitarian War Law

The Red Cross helps people in need. Around the corner - and far away. Worldwide, millions of people experience the consequences of war every day. The humanitarian law of war offers protection to citizens, medical workers and prisoners of war. Humanitarian law of war and the Red Cross are inextricably linked. The shared value: human dignity.

What are you going to do?

The Brabants HOR team is working hard. The voluntary advisers are strongly committed to the dissemination of humanitarian law of war (HOR) in the Netherlands. Due to the success of previous information, there is increasing demand among other schools and other diverse organizations. That is why we are expanding the team with HOR-advisers who:

• give HOR-information and propagate the Red Cross principles;
• Stay informed of developments in the field of humanitarian law of war by reading the HOR newsletter and attending the annual theme day;
• Contributing to the promotion of HOR-information;
• Working with the Brabants HOR-team, among others by attending the team meeting.

Who are we looking for?

We are expanding the team in Brabant with voluntary HOR advisers who:

• To have knowledge or affinity with the humanitarian law of war and the Red Cross;
• To have good communication skills and to stand for a group;
• At least 4 provide information per year and use for at least one year;
• Living in Brabant and be prepared to travel within the province for information,
• Especially during the morning hours available ijn;
• Participating in the two-day HOR introductory course on 11 and 12 Nov 2017 in Soest.
