Do you want to work on a voluntary basis at a day care for elderly people with memory problems and/or intellectual disabilities? Then we are looking for you!
Detailed description
Care farm De Willemshoeve offers daytime activities to elderly people with memory problems (for example due to dementia or a cerebral hemorrhage) and/or people with a mild intellectual disability.
A day at the Willemshoeve
The daily activities follow a fixed structure:
9.30 - 10.00 arrival guests with coffee
10:30 - 12:00 morning activity
12:00 - 12:15 prepare lunch
12:15 - 12:45 lunch
13:00 - 14:00 rest time
14:00 - 14:30 coffee
14:30 - 15:30 afternoon activity, while enjoying a juice
15:30 - 16:00 guests go home.
What are you going to do?
Tasks you do when you are a volunteer team member include:
- Making coffee and serving it to the guests
- Preparing, supervising and completing the lunch moment
- Have conversations with guests in the group (e.g. about current events or about a theme)
- Engage in activities such as walking, creative activities, playing games.
- All this in a small, informal setting where pleasure for the guest is paramount.
Working hours
The voluntary services include fixed times. Morning shift is from 9.30 - 12.00 or 14.00 (depending on whether you help with lunch or not). Afternoon shift is from 13:45 - 15:45
