About Zonnehuizen

Zonnehuizen KInd en Jeugd is an institution that has been professionally treating, caring for and providing education to children with developmental disabilities since its foundation in 1931. This may concern children and adolescents with a psychiatric disorder, a mild intellectual disability or a combination of both. Zonnehuizen helps children to develop into full, healthy individuals. we do not only look at the child itself, but also at its environment: the parents, the family and the school. And where possible, we also offer that environment of the child our help and support. Zonnehuizen is a nationally operating organization. We have a number of locations in Zeist and the surrounding area (including a school, a clinic, homes where children live under supervision, an outpatient clinic, a care farm and a day treatment center) and polyclinics with all the care in Zeist, Amsterdam, The Hague, Eindhoven and Zutphen. A number of new establishments are in preparation. \ N \nActivities \n \nThe family form of Zonnehuizen offers children with intellectual disabilities the opportunity to grow up in a family situation. Like so many children, they live with two adults who focus on their development and their specific support request. The children participate in the employee's family life on a daily basis, so that they can develop in a positive way.
