Summary
Two Thursdays a month we go on a trip with a group of elderly people, for example to the market in Elst. They always enjoy that immensely.
Detailed description
Many residents enjoy the conviviality of the market or another outing. For example, if the weather is bad, we opt for an indoor garden center.
To achieve this, we need volunteers to drive the van and guide the residents. The assistance also consists of helping residents get in and out and pushing residents in the wheelchair.
But above all, you make it possible for the elderly to have a pleasant outing and for you to enjoy it!
Experienced volunteer Henk says: “As soon as we are on the road with the wheelchair bus, the stories come. A different environment has a big impact on people. Often it is just listening to what the residents have to tell each other.”
The residents who come along are often very grateful. Henk: “And that makes me very grateful. I like that I can do something for someone else. That's a good way to spend my life. Also for my own meaning!"
An ordinary driving license B is sufficient to drive the bus. A driving style test may be necessary if someone has no experience yet.

There are four nursing homes, namely: Oranje Nassau's Oord and Rumah Kita in Wageningen, De Rijnhof in Renkum and De Lingehof in Bemmel. There are also hospices in Wageningen and Bemmel.
