As a volunteer you offer support and a listening ear to our guests. You help to give them (and their families) a nice last time.
The hospice is meant for everyone in the last three months of his/her life, not just the elderly. As a volunteer you are there to support the guests of the hospice. You help with the daily meals, coffee & tea, take care of the flowers and such. But above all you offer a listening ear and are there to give the guests and their visitors extra attention.
Naturally, there is a team of nurses present to provide the guests with good care.
Hospice de Zijdevlinder opened in October 2022 and has room for 10 guests. You do not have to be of Indian-Moluccan descent to be admitted to hospice de Zijdevlinder. It is a hospice for people from all cultural backgrounds.
