About Werfpop
Werfpop has been the largest but above all the best music festival in the Leiden region since 1982. Once originated in the cozy Van der Werfpark, in the middle of the city, and for more than 10 years now on the Grote Weide in the monumental city park the Leidse Hout. This move gave the festival the opportunity to grow into a major annual (pop) music festival with an average of 22,000 visitors. One thing has remained the same all these years. Werfpop has been organized for more than 30 years by now 300 volunteers, with a heart for Leiden and culture.
Werfpop in 2018 is a pop festival where many musical acts from local to international level perform on several stages for a large and wide audience. In recent years bands like Kensington, De Jeugd van Nowadays, The Opposites, Postmen, Suicidal Tendencies, Soulfly, Sepultura have performed on the stage of Werfpop.
In addition to the musical offer, Werfpop also offers street theatre, Werfpop lectures, children's activities and an extensive festival market. Werfpop wants to give its visitors an unforgettable day, this will be
characterized by the relaxed atmosphere during the festival.
