World shop:

The Wereldwinkel Apeldoorn was founded in 1971. It employs an average of around 30 volunteers, most of whom work as shopkeepers. Shopkeepers usually work a fixed schedule. In addition to shop duties, volunteers participate in one or more working groups. The Wereldwinkel sells products from developing countries. The makers of these products receive a fair price. Moreover, the long-term trade relationships provide greater security. Attention is paid to the role of women, and child labor is not used.

Management:

The board of the Wereldwinkel Apeldoorn Association is responsible for the shop's management and the well-being of all volunteers. Recently, the organization has been working with several independent working groups, each with its own responsibilities, such as purchasing, volunteers, and organization. There are eight working groups in total. Each board member holds the portfolio for one or more working groups and represents them on the board. The chairperson is excluded from this responsibility.

What are you going to do

• Prepare the content of board meetings in consultation with the secretary.
• Lead meetings and ensure proactive decision-making.
• Representing the organization externally and seeking connections with third parties who can be of significance to the organization.
