J Your challenge

The function of Voluntary Region Coordinator is aimed at developing and maintaining the information network in that region. The West region network consists of around 10 advisers who provide information to companies and schools, and use their network and local channels to stimulate fundraising activities by third parties. For this they need to be well informed about the objectives of their work and the results thereof.

Your responsibilities

You are a true connector, a coach, a people person. You know how to motivate the team like no other and provide them with the information they need. You are responsible for coordinating activities in the region, such as the regional meetings (four times a year) and managing the volunteers. You keep in touch with them and support them where necessary. As a Regional Coordinator you work closely with the Coordinator Volunteers & Fundraising and you are the mouthpiece between the head office and the volunteers in your regional team. You also attend the training days (twice a year) and you are an active member of the Regional Coordinators team. The time spent is approximately 4 hours a week. Your workplace is from home.

Your profile

You have an HBO level of work and thinking. You have managerial experience and you are able to inspire others. You also have excellent oral and written proficiency in Dutch. You are skilled in maintaining (external) contacts at various levels. You have excellent planning and organizational skills. You are willing and able to come to Amsterdam at least four times a year for training and meetings with the other Regional Coordinators.

The organization

War Child is a young, dynamic organization with an informal atmosphere and a lot of room for creativity and initiative. The image that War Child propagates externally is a blueprint of the work at the head office: It is dynamic, innovative, honest and focused on results at low costs. So that as much budget as possible goes to the aid to war children. Volunteers are therefore essential for War Child. As a volunteer you will have the opportunity to participate in all kinds of training courses and you will be involved in War Child events.
