Do you enjoy ensuring that residents of the asylum seekers' center participate in Wageningen? Then become a #meedoendeskvolunteer!
Every Monday from 15:00 to 16:30, you and a colleague run the #meedoenbalie. This enables asylum seekers to participate in Wageningen society from day one. This is done through volunteering, but also through social activities such as sports and coffee mornings in the city. They can also take part in language classes to learn Dutch right away.
What are you going to do?
At the #meedoenbalie, you speak to residents of the asylum seekers' centre every week, explain which (volunteer) activities they can sign up for, and look together with the resident at what is most suitable for them.
You do this in a team of volunteers who speak various languages and live at the asylum seekers' center.
You often walk around the asylum seeker center together with a resident to motivate people to participate.
You also help the residents register via the website: ikdoemee.nl
Working hours:
Monday from 14:45 to 16:45.
What are we asking?
You can work in a culturally sensitive manner, you speak English, and you can handle a dynamic work environment. You can work independently. Additionally, you participate in a six-weekly team meeting, either before or after, at the #meedoenbalie on Monday afternoons.
What do we offer you?
A varied workplace where you work independently. You will receive thorough onboarding. You can ask the project coordinator any questions you may have. There is a team meeting every six weeks where you can provide input. Twice a year, we have a social gathering to thank you and to meet other volunteers.
