Summary
Helping people who live below a certain subsistence level directly, by distributing food that is made available by third parties.Detailed description
Screen team member:
A screen team member determines whether he or she is eligible for a food package based on the financial situation of a prospective participant. A national standard is available for this purpose. In principle, a (re)assessment takes place every 3 months.
During an assessment, a (prospective) participant must submit all documents that can serve as proof of the actual financial situation. This requires an understanding of finances and skills to build confidence to deal with these types of situations and information in a discreet manner. Every situation is different, so listening to (and recording) the personal story and identifying which other authorities are involved is very important. Insight into the playing field of social organizations (social map) is an advantage.
The information obtained is processed in the food bank's registration system. This requires some skill with digital means.
The screen team consists (dated. October 2018) of 6 volunteers spread over the cores of Maarssen(broek), Breukelen and Loenen. The volunteers in the cores divide the work among themselves for those cores.
Screen team coordinator:
As a coordinator you are responsible for the guidance and proper functioning of the screen team and you are ultimately responsible for the correct use of the national standard. You are also the link between the screen team, the other teams and the board of the Food Bank.
It is also important to be regularly present at the Food Bank during the distribution to keep in touch with the participants and to answer any questions.
As administrator of the Food Bank's registration system, you are also the right person to provide various information for various authorities and social organizations that want to do something for the Food Bank, but need information about the composition and size of the families of participants. Everything anonymized of course.
