Work buddy for status holders

What are you going to do?

Status holders, who are refugees who are allowed to stay in our country, can get their integration by following language lessons and also doing social activities such as volunteer work. Together with a status holder, you will do volunteer work once a week. Volunteer work that you both enjoy!

You are the bridge between the refugee and the organization. In the first period, you build a bond of trust together. Making the status holder enthusiastic and motivating is important as a volunteer. You do the volunteer work first for and then together. By working together, the status holder learns Dutch in practice. And the person gets to know Wageningen organizations and Dutch culture. You gradually withdraw more and more until the status holder can do it alone.

Who are we looking for?

● You are creative in working with people who do not yet speak Dutch (well)

● You can follow the other person: you are patient, you sense the other person's pace and you deal with unexpected and unknown situations in a relaxed manner.

● You have respect for and can connect with the customs, attitudes and culture of others.

What do we have to offer you?

● You will be well trained and you can always contact the work supervisor and the cultural connectors of Vluchtelingenwerk.

● You gain relevant work experience with refugees in a social organization.

● Your travel and/or expenses will be reimbursed. You are insured during working hours.
