As a counter clerk, you will staff the reception of VluchtelingenWerk at the AZC.

Refugees live at the POL AZC for weeks/months until they move to Arnhem where their procedure begins, i.e. the hearings at the Immigration and Naturalization Service.

What are you going to do?

VluchtelingenWerk is an independent advocacy organization that stands up for the interests of people who apply for asylum in the Netherlands. VluchtelingenWerk provides information about the procedure and tries to support people in a good preparation.

In the morning, the desk clerk informs the new residents about the appointment with VluchtelingenWerk and provides them with information material. During the day, they answer questions from residents who come to the desk, and they receive substantive guidance. There are also administrative tasks, such as supplementing the information material and answering the phone.

What are we asking?

We are looking for someone with an open and friendly appearance, stress-resistant and with good contactual qualities. Thinking and working level at least MBO. It is volunteer work in which one has to deal with many different people from many different cultures. People usually do not speak Dutch yet and often no English, so improvisation skills are important.

What do we have to offer you?

VluchtelingenWerk Oost Nederland offers professional guidance, an induction program, a training program, an expense allowance and an interesting workplace.

What makes the work worthwhile?

You stand up for the rights of refugees. You help them build a new life in the Netherlands. VluchtelingenWerk stands for humanity and the right to live in safety.

Working hours
