Buddy for a refugee

Become a buddy of a refugee in Wageningen 

Would you like to regularly work with a refugee and help them find their way in Wageningen? Then we're looking for you!

As a buddy, you visit the client approximately once a month. Together, you decide what to do: take a walk, go through the mail, go to the library, practice Dutch, pursue a hobby, or accompany them to an agency or doctor.

You help clients better navigate society. You break social isolation and encourage participation and integration.

As a buddy, you're socially engaged, offer a listening ear, and discuss what's going on in the client's life, such as income, housing, health, parenting, or social contacts. You provide support without taking over.

You keep Vluchteling Onder Dak regularly informed about your contact. You coordinate with the buddy coordinator regarding the client's well-being and are always available for guidance and questions.

We strive to build a network of buddies around each client. You can also register with someone else.
