First Aid for Life Questions

This workshop ' Identification and first aid for life questions' is given by the Center of Life Questions. The training is intended for volunteers in the Gooi, who work in care and welfare.

Background

As a volunteer you come to people's homes. You hear their story, questions and concerns. People tell you about everyday life, but also about illness, loneliness, family contacts and their life history. You see emotions like sadness, anger and joy. Sometimes not much is said, but you notice that there is restlessness or insomnia.

Life questions can be hidden in all those different signals from patients or clients. They are questions about what people really think is important in their lives and what is at stake. It concerns the spiritual dimension of care, which is also referred to as giving meaning .

What are you learning?

In this workshop you will receive information and tools to identify life questions. How do you recognize them? How do you pay attention to what really matters? We explore what you can do yourself and when referral to a consultant for life questions (spiritual carer) or other professional is necessary.
