As a coordinator, you ensure that people who cannot exercise independently have a sporty and enjoyable weekly swimming hour at De Bongerd swimming pool.

Member of the swimming team

WAAG is looking for a coordinator for our swimming group on Wednesday evenings at De Bongerd. Together with a small team of volunteers, you will ensure that WAAG is the place where everyone who needs guidance can enjoy swimming. This is available all year round, except during the summer, Christmas, and May holidays. Whether you can come every week or less often, or prefer working in a duo, this is certainly possible in consultation.

Will you join our swimming team as a coordinator?

Are you ready to become part of something sporty and inspiring as a volunteer/coordinator at WAAG? Then you can join our swimming group at De Bongerd on Wednesday evenings from 18:45 to 20:00. We would love for you to think along with us, help make decisions, and participate. Together, we ensure that everyone who needs help or guidance can enjoy a sporty and sociable swimming session.

What can you go do?

  • Coaching and coordinating: you create the schedule for the weekly presence of sufficient swimming volunteers, including the required expertise (First Aid, AED).
  • Strong together: together with your teammates, you ensure that everything runs smoothly and safely, both for the participants in the water and while supervising from the shore.
  • Guiding the participants: from practicing together to making people feel comfortable in the water. Or playing games together or just relaxing in the hot tub.
  • Feedback is your friend: it is pleasant to work together within the team, and you help each other ensure everything runs smoothly.
  • In short, you are the central figure who monitors the program and adjusts it where necessary; together with the team, you carry the swimming evening.

Who are we looking for?

Someone with a warm heart who enjoys working with people who need extra attention to be able to participate in sports, and who can support the supervisors in the swimming team.

Are you someone who

  • has an overview, sees what is needed, and can support and guide the supervisors in this,
  • is flexible and willing to think along about what the participants and supervisors need to ensure everyone enjoys swimming and exercising,
  • knows how important sociability and having fun are,
  • who has approximately 2.5 hours available per week,

Then we would love to get to know you!

What do we offer you?

  • Fun and meaningful volunteer work as a coordinator for a swimming group
  • The opportunity to use your creativity and ideas, within the swimming group and within WAAG
  • Opportunities to learn and grow
  • A sporting activity in which you also work on your own fitness.

Are you excited, do you want to know more, or come and take a look?

Then please contact Martine. You can ask her all your questions about the position and sign up to come and take a look. She can be reached at infosport@sportclubwaag.nl or 06 13 03 51 15.
