Team leader communication Food Banks Netherlands

In the Netherlands, more than a million people live below the poverty line and a lot of food is wasted.

The local food banks help the poorest by temporarily providing them with food parcels. For this we work together with companies, institutions, municipalities and private individuals. In this way, together we ensure that poverty is combated, food surpluses disappear and the environment is less burdened.

Food Banks Netherlands is the national association of more than 170 food banks. All employees, national and local (a total of more than 13,000 people) work unpaid.

We are looking for the support of our board member Communication team leader / coordinator Communication. This is a duo volunteer job with which you can help us enormously in the further development of our organization and assistance.

This is what you will do:

• You are the right-hand man of the Communications board member and you coordinate the daily activities of the Food Banks Netherlands Communication Team (about 30 volunteers).
• You ensure the implementation and follow-up of the communication plans and the associated actions, together with the volunteers in the communication team and also the coordinators of other teams.
• You are involved in setting up the team and selecting new volunteers.
• You help the team where necessary and you are a source of information and sounding board for the team members.

This is your profile:

• You have extensive experience in organizing and managing a communication department.
• You have broad experience and up-to-date knowledge of your profession and an excellent knowledge of the Dutch language
• You are a team player with a good dose of empathy.
• You achieve results and work in a planned and organized manner.
• You can work from home a lot, but you are also willing to come to Houten for periodic consultations at our Service Center.
• You can combine this volunteer job with your other activities and are available for about 8 to 12 hours a week.
• This position is filled by two volunteers, due to the departure of one of the current coordinators, this vacancy is vacant.
