Front office employee

We are looking for an enthusiastic employee to strengthen the Front Office team of the Association of Dutch Food Banks (VBN) in Houten. As for all positions at Food Banks Netherlands, it concerns unpaid voluntary work.

What do you contribute to?

More than 1 million people in the Netherlands live below the poverty line. The food banks help the poorest by temporarily providing them with food parcels. For this we work together with companies, institutions, governments and private individuals. In this way, together we ensure that poverty is combated, food surpluses disappear and the environment is less burdened. Food Banks Netherlands is the national association for more than 168 food banks in the Netherlands and works exclusively with volunteers.

What are you going to volunteer for a few hours a week?

• You are the first point of contact by telephone and e-mail for local food banks and external parties;
• You handle the general mail and telephone independently, you schedule consultations and you offer administrative / secretarial support where necessary;
• You support ongoing projects at the Food Bank. This can be in the field of, for example, communication, HRM, food procurement, logistics or food safety;
• Your team consists of eight colleagues, with whom you mainly have digital contact, there is a daily occupation of two employees. There is a team meeting every six weeks.

What are you bringing?

• You are proactive and a go-getter and you don't need anyone to do "your thing";
• You are super enthusiastic, friendly and patient and you know how to convey that to your colleagues;
• You can be present at the office on Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.;
• It is nice if you have experience with Word, Excel and Outlook
