Dream home for a good life for 7 disabled residents

Since 2007, Het Droomhuis has been a small-scale form of housing for people with an intellectual or multiple disability. The Dream House was created on the initiative of the parents. Thanks in particular to their active involvement and commitment, this unique residential facility offers care to seven (multiple) disabled residents. Het Droomhuis wants to offer the residents a safe, small-scale and stimulating form of living, in which their possibilities and skills can be used to the fullest. The care and guidance are aimed at maximum development, development and optimal well-being.

All residents receive professional support and guidance from a permanent team of employees who are employed by care provider 's-Heerenloo. The care is tailor-made, in line with the possibilities and limitations of the residents. The residents live together in a special attractive house, which has been adapted with all the necessary amenities. The house is owned by the Housing Foundation Wageningen. The residents rent from the housing association. Het Droomhuis is located in the center of Wageningen and borders the nature of the floodplains.

Composition, tasks and responsibilities of the board

The board consists of a chairman, a treasurer, a secretary and 1 general member. The board is responsible for leading the Association Het Droomhuis. The Association consists of two legal representatives per resident and an independent board. The board meets 5 to 6 times a year, keeps its finger on the pulse and prepares the meetings of the Association. The Association meets two or three times a year to discuss important matters in the Droomhuis. Among other things, the Association decides on the annual scope and costs of the joint care to be deployed in the Droomhuis. The executive tasks of the Association are assigned to committees in which 1 board member and a number of parents/representatives participate. There are committees for finances, care, personnel, volunteers, home & garden, new resident, newsletter, website/social media, etc.

The responsibility for the care of the individual resident lies with his legal representatives and the 2 personal supervisors (PB), who coordinate the care in the Droomhuis. Goals and nature of the care for each resident are laid down by one of the PB staff in a personal plan that is adjusted annually.

Responsibilities and competences

· The chairman operates independently and is mainly the technical chairman.

· The chair organizes, summarizes and ensures that decisions are taken.

· Is clear, decisive and resistant to (emotional) influence.

· Is available for the Droomhuis for an average of 2 to 4 hours a week.

· Is able to represent Het Droomhuis to external parties.

The board members perform their duties without remuneration.
