WHAT IS URBAN FARMING 035 (UF035)

As a residents' initiative, we are the largest green family in Hilversum with the aim of bringing people and nature together and allowing them to grow and flourish. We stimulate the emergence and growth of green spaces in the city where people come together, engage in social activities and develop. We give all Hilversumbers the opportunity to be actively involved in green, health, nutrition and sustainability. In connection with and caring for each other and their sustainable, green living environment.

WHAT ARE WE DOING

In concrete terms, this means that we are transforming unused areas in Hilversum into blooming vegetable gardens. In our gardens people come into contact with each other, they can grow their own fruit and vegetables and teach young and old how vegetables are grown. All kinds of fun activities are organized, such as cooking with the harvest and workshops growing vegetables. We also teach (school) children in our vegetable gardens, so that all children have the opportunity to be involved with nature and know where their food comes from. We bring together green, healthy and cozy and thus operate in the domains 'neighborhoods and districts', 'care and welfare', 'nature and greenery' and 'education'. About 200 people are actively involved in our organization, spread over 17 locations. We are represented in 7 of the 8 neighborhoods of Hilversum. Every year we reach more than 1200 school children with our teaching programs. In the coming years we want to grow further so that communal green space is accessible for every Hilversummer.

WHO WORK AT URBAN FARMING 035

We are an informal foundation. With a board, a core team for the daily ins and outs, a Green Council and many volunteers. There are (partly) paid employees (part-timers), but mainly volunteers. The chairman position is also unpaid. However, there is an expense allowance and a volunteer allowance is possible.

OUR BOARD

Our board currently consists of a chairman, treasurer and general member. They meet about 4 times a year. If necessary, the board is also present at other UF035 meetings. The time investment of board members is approximately 4 hours per month and can usually be done at moments of their own choosing. The board monitors the principles, goals and expenses of the foundation, but also provides strategic advice on the substantive course. The board is also an ambassador for Urban Farming 035 by enriching the network and strengthening alliances.

WHAT DO WE ASK FROM YOU

Management experience is not necessarily required. What we think is more important is that you want to make Hilversum greener, healthier and more pleasant in a positive, enthusiastic and inspiring way together with us. And further:

• You mainly apply your knowledge and skills in outline and you are a sparring partner for the coordinator

• You have a relevant network in Hilversum, which you would like to use. • Together with the board and the core team (which is responsible for the day-to-day implementation) you set out the lines and help, if appropriate, in projects or activities.

• You provide strategic advice for our (annual) policy plan. • You are present at board meetings (at least 4 times a year) • You think / help raise money / projects / partners / employees (especially board, Green Council and core team)

• You play a role in relationship management and PR, are a very important ambassador for UF035

• You determine the annual final evaluation together with the other board members, for the money spent.
