Socio-cultural worker; Volunteering in The Gambia

Who are we?
Travel2Connect is a small-scale social enterprise that offers interns and volunteers the opportunity - if you are open to it - to learn from another culture. We put you in direct contact with the local inhabitants of Gambia or Senegal. We strive for you to have an authentic and unique experience that will stay with you for a lifetime.

Activities
Are you creative, adventurous or sporty? Then this is a unique opportunity for you and Travel2Connect is the right place for you.
There are many children and young people in The Gambia who have no chance of education and/or work because of poverty. That's one of the reasons they hang out on the streets aimlessly. As a youth worker you can mean a lot to them in The Gambia. Together with a local football club you can organize sports activities in which other young people are also involved. Moreover, there is a possibility to organize creative and cultural activities such as a disco evening, a dance competition, etc. In short, there are all kinds of possibilities where you can put yourself meaningfully into a completely different culture and from which you will also learn a lot.

We ask
* You are at least 18 years old on the departure date.

* You are physically and mentally healthy.

* You are patient, flexible, reliable and interested in other cultures.

* You have experience regarding the vacancy or you are following a training course for this.

* There is a registration procedure.

* You pay the costs that volunteering in The Gambia entails, such as preparation and supervision costs, flight ticket, accommodation costs and meals.
