Job description
To strengthen our team, we are looking for enthusiastic volunteers who want to supervise weekly play and exercise activities for refugee children throughout the Netherlands . As a volunteer for TeamUp, you offer psychosocial support to refugee children through sports, games and exercise. Through play, children learn to deal with emotions such as anger, fear and stress.
Your work
You are part of an enthusiastic team with other volunteers. At a fixed time during the week, you and your team will guide activities for children aged 6 to 18 years. These activities have a theme and purpose. Through play, the children learn to deal with anger, fear and stress, for example.
You also have a signaling role. You learn how to recognize worrying behavior and, if necessary, refer children to specialized care and guidance. We provide proper training before you start and guide you and your team.
This is you:
- Experience in organizing activities for children. Or you have relevant work experience or training (or studying) in the field of pedagogy, education, social work, sports, games and/or exercise;
- Approx. Available 4 hours a week from approximately 3.30 pm (day and time vary per location);
- You have the intention to commit to TeamUp for a longer period of time. Stability is essential for this vulnerable group of children;
