Summary

To strengthen our team, we are looking for enthusiastic volunteers who want to supervise weekly play and exercise activities.

Detailed description

Job description

To strengthen our team, we are looking for enthusiastic volunteers who want to supervise weekly play and exercise activities for refugee children throughout the Netherlands . As a volunteer for TeamUp, you offer psychosocial support to refugee children through sports, games and exercise. Through play, children learn to deal with emotions such as anger, fear and stress.

Your work

You are part of an enthusiastic team with other volunteers. At a fixed time during the week, you and your team will guide activities for children aged 6 to 18 years. These activities have a theme and purpose. Through play, the children learn to deal with anger, fear and stress, for example.

You also have a signaling role. You learn how to recognize worrying behavior and, if necessary, refer children to specialized care and guidance. We provide proper training before you start and guide you and your team.

This is you:

  • Experience in organizing activities for children. Or you have relevant work experience or training (or studying) in the field of pedagogy, education, social work, sports, games and/or exercise;
  • Approx. Available 4 hours a week from approximately 3.30 pm (day and time vary per location);
  • You have the intention to commit to TeamUp for a longer period of time. Stability is essential for this vulnerable group of children;

What do we offer?

  • The opportunity to gain work experience in this field and to develop yourself further;
  • Training and follow-up training in facilitating the activities and working with the specific target group;
  • First aid course;
  • counseling and stress management sessions;
  • Travel allowance;
  • A place in an international, enthusiastic and professional team;
  • Events to exchange experience with other volunteers;

Do you recognize yourself in the description and do you think you fit in with our team? Apply quickly via the button. TeamUp recruiters will contact you as soon as possible.

Child safety is essential for TeamUp. TeamUp therefore does not accept any form of abuse. This subject is addressed in our recruitment and selection procedures.

TeamUp is a joint program of Save the Children, UNICEF Netherlands and War Child. TeamUp is made possible in part by the Fund for Asylum, Migration and Integration (AMIF).

About TeamUp
